A woman who gains the ability to electrocute people after being struck by lightning meets a chaebol heir whose heart runs on a battery. Netflix Korea (넷플릭스 코리아)’s new romantic comedy series, 《Take Charge of My Heart》, centers on the premise that the heir depends on the woman to charge him so he can survive. Chae Soo-bin and Kim Young-kwang star.

Background and context

What stands out about the series is that the protagonists’ relationship begins with “charging” as a matter of survival. One gains the ability to electrocute people, while the other has a heart that depends on a battery. This fantastical and comedic premise is presented as the starting point for a romantic comedy.

Chae Soo-bin, listed among the cast, appeared in 《The Fabulous》 and 《Rookie Cops》, while Kim Young-kwang appeared in 《Call It Love》. The source describes both actors as veterans of the K-drama romance genre.

What this news means

The two characters’ meeting is not simply a coincidence; it is tied to the heir’s survival. This premise can therefore be seen as the starting point for the story to explore what the two come to mean to each other. However, the source provided does not reveal how their relationship develops in detail or what themes the series explores.

For example, viewers looking for a romantic comedy with a fantasy premise may be interested in how the protagonists’ abilities and conditions for survival shape their relationship. That is a point of interest one might anticipate from the premise, not a specific plot detail or message confirmed by the source.
